7 Ways to Step Into Your New Identity

Last week I talked about how to know if you’re having an identity shift.

This week, I want to talk to you about ways to step into that new identity more firmly and consciously once you’ve realized that you are shifting.

Most people stumble blindly through their initiations and as such they will often get half-baked results.

Identity shifts are the most powerful form of manifestation because who we are determines the foundation of everything we create in our lives. So you don’t want this to be something you do accidentally or unconsciously. It takes a LOT of effort to get through an identity shift. Don’t waste it.

  1. Make Conscious Choices About Who You Want To Be — When you go through identity shifts it can be really easy to focus on what you want to DO. But the much more significant question to ask yourself is: who do you want to BE? To make this the most conscious shift possible, defining your new self is the absolute best way to step into this new space.
  2. Reinforce Your Identity With Your Choices — Start asking yourself regularly “Is this who I want to be?” Most of your choices are made by rote — without any conscious thought. Start asking yourself “Is this who my new self is?” or “Is this who I want to be?” for each choice you are making. You’ll be stunned how often the answer to that question is “no”. If this is the case, then make a new choice based on the new you.
  3. Speak Your New Self — Let trusted others in your life know that you are going through an identity shift. Ask them to help you make choices in alignment with the new you. Tell them who you are becoming and speak it as though it has already happened. Being witnessed in your new self can be incredibly powerful. Obviously, if someone has been less than supportive in the past, do NOT trust them with the new you.
  4. Do an Initiation Ritual — The language of the spirit world is metaphor and symbology. If you want to speak to your spirit, the best way to do that is to participate in or create a ritual using those elements. This helps to anchor your intentions into your beingness.   5. Set Up An Altar To Hold Your Intention — Having a physical representation of your intentions in your physical space is a great way to remind yourself about what you are living into. It also holds the morphic field of your intention on the energetic/astral realm which pulls you into your new way of being. Don’t know anything about altars? Get a free class here.
  6. Create a Piece of Transformational Jewelry — You can use the energy of semi-precious beads/stones strung together into a necklace to hold the energy for you so you can have that new energy overlay onto your body. Choose your stones based on the energies you’re trying to create in your life.
  7. Get Others To Reinforce It — Remember those people you told about your identity shift? Ask them to appreciate you who you are (becoming — but in the first person). For instance: if you’re working on being more loving, then ask them to appreciate you for it. A.K.A. “I so appreciate how loving you’ve become. It makes me feel…”

These steps should help you make it through your identity shift much more efficiently. Do you have to do them all? Nope. You can do some or none of them and you will still get there. But to make sure you make the best use of the energies and to increase the depth of the shift, these will make all the difference.
